The Story of

Our Restaurant

Housed in the former house of Georgian architect G.T Andrews, it dates back to around 1825/26. It is probably the earliest surviving purpose built architects office. It is a Grade II listed building, and also an English Heritage Monument. It has impressive period features and décor throughout, chiefly the original fireplaces in the main Dining room and bar area. It also sits in the shadow of the ever impressive, Clifford’s Tower, one of York’s major landmarks.

Pesci alla Toscana

Monk fish cooked in a rich garlic, tomato, capers and coriander sauce served with polenta, melanzane and crispy basil.


Rigatoni di gamberoni

King prawns cooked in a rich tomato arrabbiata sauce tossed with rigatoni pasta and finished with balsamic rocket.


Spiedini di Filetto

Skewer of fillet steak with onions and peppers smothered with garlic and mustard butter served with house chips and salad.


Pollo saltimbocca

Chicken breast topped with Parma ham served with crushed potatoes, asparagus, red pepper and honey puree finished in a marsala and sage sauce.
